 In today we are discuss about the Big Fat Indian Weddings.Believe it or not there are more than 10 to 12 million weddings that take place in our country in a single 

year and this entire wedding industry is worth more than 50 billion dollars.Now if we were to understand more about our indian weddings and I should try and address 

some very basic problems like------------------

     You might be wondering where do people get ideas about getting married at such fancy destinations ???

 

These are the celebrities who are actually influencing the minds of the youngsters,believe it or not they have spent around 40 crore rupees on their wedding but

now we have to understand that did they do anything wrong ?.Answer is No.Why?---------


1.It is not heavy on their pockets: I personally believe for them 40 crores is an amount which is not at all heavy on their pockets,

2.They sell the wedding pictures and footage rights to media houses: Believe it or not they sell ,here I am not saying everyone sells but many of the times it is said

that these celebrities sell the media rights of their wedding pictures or wedding footages and they get a lot of money of that.

3.They get sponsorships from designers,organizers,etc:  Their designer clothes are sponsored by you know high class designers.They might be sponsoring their clothes as 

   well so all these expenses.

              So,these three points I talked about might not actually total up to 40 crores also they do get some leeways because of all these sponsorships or media rights

so I personally believe that they are not doing anything wrong but now that we have understood lavish weddings that's not something that we have to think about.If we were to do

a good financial planning for our marriage ,how should we go about it?

   Now let's go on to a very important point as to how can you financially plan for a wedding ?

        When I was trying to do some research for this one I asked one or two people who are into this industry,who own a marriage Hall and I ask them that a typical

Marathi wedding how much would that cost and believe it or not he said like a very basic Marathi wedding these days will be around 10 lakh rupees.If you want to go a

little bit higher that will be around 20 lakh rupees and like very lavish Marathi weddings can go 30 lakh plus.So, when I was wondering really could it be 10 lakh at a

base and for that I got some basic answers like around 4 lakh rupees will be for the hall rent plus the food cost okay that will be around 400 to 500 people but this 

4 lakh doesnot include photography charges,videography charges,now these days there are pre-wedding shoots that is not included in this four lakh,then we are not also 

including the dresses of the bride and groom,in that we are not including jewelry cost in that.Also, in these days even something like engagement is also considered as

a very big thing so engagement will cost around another two lakh rupees so all this put together you can imagine 10 to 12 lakhs is like a base level cost in tier-2 cities

after considering all the expenses,then 20 lakhs for a little bit more lavish and 30 lakh plus for like super lavish something like a destination wedding and all that okay 

but now let me ask you a very basic question if I'm talking about all these expenses even 10 lakh rupees expense at a basic level one of the cost which is preety high is

the Brides and Grooms right and it around two to three lakh rupees can get spent just on clothes.Another cost is makeup cost.

  

1.More than 60% of Indian families turn to money lenders to borrow funds for wedding ceremonies.

2.In India,the average person will spend 20% of their total wealth at the time of the wedding on functions,needs,or wedding-related items.
